Description: Jialin An is a second-year graduate student studying Sociology at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. She believes education is an important tool for success and is committed to tackling education inequality issues in China. Jialin led survey projects concerning the intersection between education and civilian quality of life including a project that seeks to offer children from rural areas whose parents work in urban cities as a mode of survival through educational opportunities such as lectures and activities. During her time in the United States, Jialin is eager to bring her experience from China to share with the organization she’ll be working with and hope to gain new skills from the Lingnan W.T. Chan Fellows Program.
