Description: Yulin He is a second-year graduate student majoring in Ecology at Sun Yat-sen University. She is passionate about doing community service and experience different cultures. In 2013, she had led a volunteer group to “Changji” village in rural China to do voluntary teaching for two-week. In 2017, as a member of Chan Fellowship program, she worked as an intern at Youth Spirit Artworks, which is an NPO aiming to empower homeless or low-income youth in Berkeley. During the internship, she engaged in “Visions of Mother Nature” community mural project, youth biographies project and some cross-culture communication workshops. She not only gained skills and perspectives about problem solving and team building, but also understood the meaning of “Education for Service”.  Inspired by this meaningful internship, she is going to explore the horticultural therapy field and hopes to help more people in deed.
