Description: Yulu “Liu” Liu is a first-year Masters’ student studying International La at Sun-Yat Sen University in Guangzhou, China. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Law, also from Sun-Yat Sen University. Her previous volunteer service experience is vast, and includes work with organizations such as The Women’s Federation of Guangzhou, which records women’s reports of social discrimination such as domestic violence and sets them up with pro bono lawyers, and Youth Volunteers of Guangzhou, which provides extracurricular activities and academic assistance to students from migrant worker families. She considers legal work to be not just an opportunity but a responsibility to provide the civil service of pro bono work. During her time in the United States, she aims to confront challenging new experiences and develop herself as a legal professional and as a social worker.  Fellowship Placement: Chinese Progressive Association
