Description: Yihong Li is a third-year graduate student studying Public Health with a concentration in Medical Statistics & Epidemiology at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. Yihong is an avid volunteer who has participated in different kinds of voluntary services including voluntary teaching for one year in Tibet, helping the relief effort after earthquakes in China, and assisting the hosts of some international fairs. Her experience in Tibet gave first-hand experience of the education inequalities that exists in China. Those precious experiences inspired her a lot and fostered her great concentration, sympathy, responsibility and professionalism. In addition to her interests in the uneven distribution of resources in education and youth empowerment, as a public health student, she is also concerned about the health related topics. She would like to learn more about the medical and health services and educational system in U.S., and hopes to apply the theoretical knowledge learnt in solving real practical problems and conflict in China.
