Description: Sau Yi Kwan is a fourth year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. She is a motivated and action-oriented individual who has her heart on child education and youth service issues. This led her to serve as a student counselor at Hok Yao Club and provide career consultations and emotional supports to secondary school students. She is not afraid of challenges or changes that she expects her internship experience at UCLA to be “full of challenges and flexibilities”. As a 2017 Chan Fellow, she interned at Mar Vista Family Center, which mainly works on youth empowerment and leadership training. Throughout various exploration and inspiration in the exchange period, mental health issue becomes her interested research topic, especially mental health stigma. Hence, she is now dedicated to promoting mental wellness and reducing its stigma in the society so as to increase the awareness on mental health topic. Education literacy would become her main focus and plan that she would love to involve in the future.
