Description: Qian "Jane" Zeng is a first-year graduate at Sun Yat-sen University(SYSU) majoring in finance. Jane would like to help communities with lower socioeconomic status achieve economic justice, affordable housing, and financial literacy. Jane has participated in several volunteering programs including teaching assistance in a small kindergarten near SYSU Zhuhai Campus, and nutrition promotion activity for rural students. Jane also helped people with lower socioeconomic status through her internship with Marrakech, a NGO dedicated to helping the disabled advance their career. Another social concern of Jane is the lack of education equality for children in rural China. As a student from a more rural area of China, Jane understands the difficulties of rural students to advance their lives as they do not have the equal access to the necessary education. Jane hopes to improve her personal skills such as public speaking and leadership through the experience. She is eager to apply the knowledge learnt from working in the American NGO to solving problems such as the educational inequalities for children in China.
