Description: Hoi Kwo CHONG (Charlotte) is a 2nd year undergraduate majoring in Contemporary English Studies at Lingnan University Hong Kong. As a volunteer in China in 2013, she was mainly responsible for organizing a summer camp for children from migrant worker families. She realized that what children truly need is care and love since they have little time with their working parents. In her visit to an urban village in China in 2016, she witnessed the poor and unpleasant living condition there, which raised her attention to the issue of poverty. She believes that everyone shall be empowered. With passion and faith, she would like to influence the world through writing, to provoke reflection and discussion, as well as to urge society to tackle issues with down-to-earth solutions. She is most concerned about issues of poverty, children, inequality and discrimination. She hopes to gain insights of how American society deals with it.
