Description: Chen Wenchao, Frances, interned at Institute of International Education in San Francisco. She worked on the International Visitor Leaderships Program, which is designed to increase international understanding and co-operation by hosting international visitors from government, business, education, and the arts. Frances helped them to obtain firsthand knowledge about the United States, its people, policies, and culture and to establish lasting professional relationships. For example, she hosted a TV director from Indonesia (arranging a visit to the Bay Area Video Coalition, where Irene Guo, another Chan fellow, interned) and a researcher from the National Center for Scientific Research in France.
